Post-Race Refreshments and Massages

Celebrate your achievement with Post-Race refreshments in the Oak Park River Forest High School south cafeteria. Refreshments will be provided by Trader Joe’s, Prairie Bread Kitchen, Caribou Coffee, Jimmy John’s, and Fuego Loco.

Women's 5K Run

Women’s 5K Run: The Race That Celebrates Women
In recognition of their achievement all women finishers will receive a flower, courtesy of Garland Flowers, Oak Park.

Awards

Handmade plaques to will be awarded to the Overall 3 female and male 5K run winners; top 3 finishers in each 5K run age group and each Clydesdale weight group (open & masters
divisions); the top 3 Mother/Daughter and Father/Son top teams; and the overall female and male Youth Mile winners. Medals will be awarded to top 3 in each Youth Mile age
group. Additionally, the first place age group winners of the Youth Mile will also receive a Competitive Foot gift certificates.

Purse Prize

Prizes

A Purse Prize will be awarded to the top female and male Runner in the Open Division and the top female and male runner in the Master’s Division (40 & up). The Overall male and female winner will be awards $100 and the overall master’s male and master’s female will be awarded $50.

$100 Additional Cash Prize for Setting a New Course Record!
Set a new course record and win $100 (in addition to the prize money listed above).

Location

The start and finish lines are at the Oak Park River Forest High School, 201 N. Scoville just north of Lake Street, Oak Park.

CARA Runners’ Choice Circuit Race

Once again, this race was selected to be part of CARA’s 2012 competitive circuit of races, named the RUNNERS’ CHOICE CIRCUIT. CARA members can compete on this Circuit for year-end Overall, Age Group, Clydesdale/Athena (weight) and Club/Team awards.

This race is a CARA CERTIFIED RACE. It has agreed to adhere to and uphold CARA’s Best Practices Guidelines. These Guidelines embody the highest standards for quality, safety and comfort for participants in a road race.

Race That's Good for Life

Be a part of the 31st annual Oak Park Runners Club -- Race That's Good for Life and enjoy one of the Midwest's finest events of its kind. From world class runners to first time athletes, the Race That's Good For Life offers an extremely fun, fast, flat course with chip timing and 5-year age group awards. Each woman who finishes the 5K will receive a flower!. It's not just for fast runners either, we welcome walkers in the 5K event. Bring the whole family! The kids can compete in either the 1 Mile Youth Race (for kids 7-12) or the 200 Meter Junior Jog (for kids 7 & under).

Course Map

The 5K course is flat, fast and USATF-certified (#IL-06111-JW)
The 1M course is flat, fast and USATF-certified (#IL-06112-JW)

The course is entirely within the Oak Park, and it features a slightly downward sloping straight-away at the finish.
